　　Nanyue Electric (China) Co., Ltd. (Shantou Nanyue Switchgear Factory Co., Ltd.), as the state-class key high and new tech enterprise, is the specialist producer which is designated by the former Ministry of Machinery Industries and the Ministry of Electric Power Industry to produce the complete high and low voltage switchgear products and high voltage electrical equipment & components. The company is among the first enterprises recommended by the State Economic and Trade Commission for construction and renovation of nationwide urban and rural power grids. The company, which occupies the area of 50 mu and the building area of 30,000 m2, has the fixed assets of nearly RMB 0.1 billion yuan. The company now has more than 300 people and is equipped with many machines imported from Japan, the Netherlands, Italy, etc., such as numeric control plate processing equipment, and advanced, improved inspection, measurement & test equipment. Since 1997, the company scored the sales of above RMB 0.1 billion yuan each year, placing it among the nationwide Top 50 switchgear producing enterprises, and among the Top 300 economic-benefit-excellent enterprises in the mechanical industry. Meanwhile, the company is a member of High and Low Voltage Standard Industry Association, and is the nationwide second-class metering entity. 　　Since the early 1970s, the company has engaged in the development and production of high and low voltage switchgear. Nowadays, the company is already able to produce above 20 series products of more than one thousand kinds. Its main products involve the low voltage power distribution panels (cabinets) models GCS, MNS2, GCK4, GCL4, BFC-20ＡＢ, GGD1.2.3, JYD2000, PGL1.2 and P(G)JD2, three case category products, own patent product of against-wall mounted type, GZS1.1(KYN28A.1-2), front-maintenance-capable, front-operation-capable center-positioned switchgear, various kinds of high voltage switchgear models GZS1(KYN28A), KYN62, KYN21, GG-1A(F), KGN□, HXGN17, HXGN20, and SF6 ring switchgear, as well as vacuum circuit-breakers models VS1 (ZN63A) and ZN28, vacuum load switch model FN23, YB□ package substation, GBI-79025M box-type transformer, etc. All these products conform to national standards and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards.
In order to improve technical level of these products and realize automated operation of urban and rural power grids as well as unattended operation of substations and distribution stations, the company applies the worldwide and nationwide state-of-the-art building intelligent control systems and power distribution network intelligent control systems to the complete high and low voltage switchgear. The company cooperated with French Schneider Electric in producing MB100-400 series, PRISMA series, OKKEN series, BLOKSET series low voltage switchgear, Merlin Gerin Mvnet center-positioned switchgear and becomes the manufacturing plant of Schneider Electric in the South China areas. Such products are widely used in the key projects, for example, Player Village of the 21st Universiade Beijing 2001, principal event site of the 9th China National Games 2001 - Guangdong Province Olympic Sports Center, China Netcom project, Guangdong Chaosheng Electronics project, Shantou Yuedong Information Building project, Changchun light-weight railway project, and Guangzhou Power Plant. In 2001, through cooperation with China Petrochem, the company has internally established the Nanyue Petrochemical & Electrical Technology Training Center, which serves as China Petrochem's research, development, and manufacturing base of power distribution equipment.
